Panasonic dmp-bd35 Sound Out With Optical Out?

Can i send full HD sound from the DMP-BD35 using the optical out to my amp (Sony 1200es)? As i know the Sony amp will not take sound with the hdmi from thsi player?

Nope, I'm afraid you can't, the optical doesn't have the bandwidth to carry HD audio. I'm afraid the only way to get HD audio with the BD35 is to upgrade your amp to one that can accept audio over the HDMI socket.

Hi thanks for that did think that it would mean a new amp. which is on the cards for 2009.
