Panasonic DMP-BD30 and Sony STR DG820 Audio

I have just set up the above equipment, but I want to be sure that I get the correct settings for the Audio. The Panasonic instruction manual for the "Sound" section is badly laid out in my opinion and and I am pretty confused as to whether everything is set up correctly to enjoy the HD Codecs where available? The sections on "Priority" and "User" are particularly difficult to understand. Any advice would be welcome perhaps someone from the What Hifi team can comment as they have recently tested this combination?

Use the Audio priority setting on the BD30 to ensure the best sound quality.
