I currently have a DV88 playing through an Arcam AVR200 and kef3500se, and a Sony 1080p LCD. I like the sound of the Arcam/ Kef combination even though the amp is outdated. I would like to get a blu ray player at some stage and I'm thinking about the Panasonic DMP-BD55 but I have 2 questions:
[*]I'm not sure how good the upscaled standard DVD image would be compared to the DV88 (I have a lot of Standard DVDs already).
[*]Would the blu-ray sound through the Arcam amp be better than the current standard DVD sound I get from the DV88?
I live in Athens and dont have the possibility of demoing my existing kit vs the Panasonic, so any thoughts anyone has would be useful.
