To be honest, i tried using the spyder calibration with my last tv and its a painful process and i dont think i was getting it right. The problem is the accuracy of the spyder might not be good enough and the probe itself might need to be calibated. Then you have to consider that the calibration controls on the tv dont behave as expected. I know my calibrator had problems with the luminance controls on my vt30. He explained to me what should be happenning as he adjusted certain values but nothing was happening.. i think it would be hard to beat the value of a very experienced calibrator. Im sure there are others who are not as experienced offering the service. Im not sure if im allowed link to the calibrator i used but they are based in the Uk and id highly recommend. They also charge less for subsequent calibrations which was a nice surprise for me when i found out as this is the second tv he did for me
