hi i have a panasonic 37lzd85 lcd tv and it claims to support 100hz refresh rate, i currently have the panel hooked up to my vista pc running vista media center via a dvi to hdmi lead.

my questions is this, does the lcd panel really support a refresh rate of 100hz or does it do some sort of trickery to convert a 50hz signal to 100hz, the reason i doubt it does 100hz refresh rate is that the specification in the manual states it can only display up to a resolution of1080p at 60hz via hdmi. i am obviously a bit nervous about trying to push the panel to 100hz incase it causes damage, can anybody confirm/deny whether the tv does indeed do 100hz when connected to a pc graphics card?.

The set is 100Hz and will happily receive 50 and 60Hz signals. It will only convert PAL 50Hz up to 100Hz. Be careful with the resolutions on the pc as the set manufacturer is not obliged to accept HDMI/DVI and would be better going through in component form. Have a look through the manual and see if the set accepts the VESA resolution you want on your pc.
