I have read that the pana 37PX70 plasma is not fully HD compatible, could someone please explain this and

tell me what its HD capabilities are, also does anyone know of any other similar 37" plasmas which are just as good or better.

It's the only 37" plasma available, so you won't find any better ;-)

It's not full HD becuase it cant show a 1080p signal natively being 1024x720 resolution, although it can downsample it and display that image.

However, most people acknowledge that 1080p on anything less than 50" is fairly pointless, unless you sit VERY close to your TV.

Depending on your primary sources and the ambient conditions that you intend to site the panel in, it will knock the spots off every 37" LCD out there for performance. Raw specifications do not tell the whole story.

Worth mentioning that Panasonic have just announced their plasmas for the US this year, and there is no 37" panel in there. It remains to be seen if they will release a 37" model for Europe. Quite a few people are saying they won't.

We're getting the lowdown on Panasonic's UK plans at an in-depth product briefing 11-13th February - there will be live updates on this site...

Obviously if we hear anymore in the meantime, we'll let you know!
