I have a Rega Planar 3 with Elys 2 fitted and I have given the Cart a fair chance to run in but I just find it dull. I have an Ortofon MC Quintet Blue which I would like to fit and connect to a Rega Fono MC. Would this be a good match and does any one recommend a different MC phono stage at a similar price? Any thoughts welcome.

Your tonearm is going to have to be raised to fit that Ortofon. Can I ask why you bought it?
You already own the Rega MC phono stage?
If you don't, hold off. What is your budget for a phono stage and why did you buy the Ortofon?

Because of the 5 star review given by Whathifi and I have always liked the sound of Oftofon MC cartridges. I have some acoustic signature Rega vta spacers to raise it.

As you have already bought them it seems a strange time to be asking the question.
If you like that cartridge then enjoy!
Personally I don't think you have made the best decision.
Yes, I know but I am impulsive.
Then why 5 star review from Whathifi?
I have previously posted that I have a Graham Slee Era reflex gold at the moment which is too high out put for the quintet blue. What MM Cartridge would you recommend to go with the Slee?
I could always sell the Quintet Blue on.
