Original 1st gen Bose over ear noise cancelling headphones anyone?

I still use them and every time my kids bring their latest gear over they reluctantly agree that the Bose still sound better. they must have been overtaken by now surely? I remember mine cost £000 back then. Love to hear any comments. Previously I had AKG 240s which I loved too
