Just read the review for this player again, it kind of suggests that you can only get SACD playback via a DSD enabled amp. Is this the case, or is the circuitry enabled to let a listener hear SACDs through a conventional stereo amp and it's just the DSD element I'd lose out on? I've assumed you can hear SACD irrespective of your amp in which the Oppo is connected but it would be good to have this confirmed. Seems strange if not!

The player also has 7.1-channel analogue outs, so provided your amp/receiver has at least 5.1-channel analogue inputs you can get multichannel audio from SACD. Or of course you can just listen in stereo using a conventional output pair.

OK that's what I wanted to hear - thanks Andrew. I've long wanted a player which will do all the three in one box; SACD, DVD-A and HDCD. There's a few boxes out there, but none of them are much below £800, but the Oppo changed all that.
