Opinion on MORDAUNT SHORT AVIANO

Hi there i had my heart set on upgrading my speakers very soon from KEF 2005.2 to some Monitor Audio RX series but whilst reading several options i have also come across the Mordaunt Short Aviano 8 which come in about £350 cheaper for the floorstanders than RX8.

As i know very little about Mordaunt could anyone give me any opinions on them in comparison to the MA RX8's?

Hi, I haven't heard the MS speakers, but I have just upgraded my B&W M1's at the front to the RX1's & RX Centre and these sound awesome, so I can only image how good the RX8's are (never would have got floor mounted speakers approved by the wife).

Also they look to die for, in the gloss white, with the grilles off.

the rx6 or the rx8 are much better than any aviano I think.

Hi

I had a very old pair of Mordaunt Short 205's which were excellent, but I've now upgraded to the newer format's etc with the RX6's and they are quite an improvement on the MS', much clearer and plenty of ooomph.

But I'll keep the Mordaunt's for zone 2 in the dining room.
