It has a 5* review in Hifi Choice. Apparently it’s derived from a form of tape they previously released that you wrap around wires or summat!

Sounds like foo to me, unless you’ve got badly designed kit or a very compromised layout - e.g. stacking items that should have a dedicated shelf.

We at Black Rhodium are the official distributer of Oyaide products. We have found the NRF tape extremely good at improving the sound quality of interconnects and speaker cables for quite some time. We have people who have invested in one sheet have gone on to order more. It is very much up to each to try the sheet in the their system and make up their own mind. We do not now of anyone offering aluminium foil to audiophiles to achieve the same end.

I do not think that a double blind test would be appropriate when a single person is doing the review.

I doubt it. There's none so deaf as those who won't hear!

A couple of graphs is at least something, though they don't prove that the difference is audible - and I suspect that is all that actually matters in cost/benefit terms.

He sets the review up by explaining how the magic is supposed to work - then goes on to describe the ways in which that very magic improves his music.
Those couple of accessory review pages are the most ridiculous thing about HFC magazine.
It's noticeable how the other contributors leave all such 'reviews' to him.

Got it in one! He used it on the inside case of his valve phono stage and it improved the realism of the orchestral instruments. 🤭
