Onkyo TX 309 and PS3 HDMI

Hi all ,

I'm finding the PS3 connect to the 309 only seems to work in the HDMI 2 allocated to AUX.

If I use the HDMI 3 it flashed the screen up for a second then TV goes to "no signal". TV 'pops' as the signal is detected and dropped . Sometimes, it will show the PS3 screen for 3 seconds, blank out, then back again for a few seconds then blank out.

Even the HDMI2 has done this once or twice but is mostly OK.

I have a new HDMI cable on order but aside from this... Can it be anything else ?

Frustrating.

1st time I've used an AV Reciever and not impressed at all so far. The manual reads great, promises easy connections but its not been the case so far.

To be fair, my 308 works perfectly. Sounds like a hardware fault, so I'd return to base / have serviced or depending on cash v. time equation, just go out and buy another amp.

Have you tried setting the PS3 resolution manually?

Also you could try holding down the PS3 power button when you turn it on for 5 secs until it beeps, so as to reset the video connection.
