Hi,

I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help answer.

Here is my current setup.

Blu-Ray
======
Sony BDPS360 Profile 2.0 Blu-ray Player

TV
===
Panasonic TX-P42S10B 42-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p Plasma TV

Sky+ HD
==========
Sky+ HD Box

Amp
=====
ONKYO HTX-22HD

The Blu-Ray goes via HDMI into the HDMI Input 1 on the HTX
The Sky+HD goes via HDMI into the HDMI Input 2 on the HTX
The Sky+HD Optical out goes into the Optical In on the HTX

The HTX-22HD HDMI output goes into the HDMI 1 Input of the Panasonic TV

Questions
*************
1) Is this the best way to setup my Sky+HD for audio and DD 5.1. I think it might make more sense to plug the Sky+HD HDMI out directly to the TV and set the Onkyo HTX to Optical
2) How can I tell what Audio Input is being received by the HTX
3) Any recommendations on Speakers to take this from 2.1 to 5.1 sound for under £150

1) For convenience, yes. You might get a marginally better picture with the Sky+HD HDMI straight to the TV, but it will involve more remote-juggling.

2) The sound format being decoded will appear on the Onkyo's display

3) To be honest, I'd go for the Onkyo add-on speaker pack for the best possible integration with the speakers you already have.

Thanks for the reply Andrew... appreciate it.

1) Cool, that's what I suspected.
2) Currently the HTX is set to HDMI for the SKY input. It does not seem to be picking up the Optical. Should I set the HTX Sky input to Optical? Will the Picture still pass through?
3) That's what I thought. However it seems that these are discontinued or at least out of stock at everywhere I've checked
