Onkyo DS-A2 IR Connection?

Hi, I purchased my first proper separates hifi system not along ago and have run into my first problem... I have an Onkyo DS-A2 iPod docking cradle connected to my Cambridge Audio 540a V2 amp and I'm having trouble changing track with the CA remote. I have connected the IR cable from the docking cradle to the amp and no joy.

If anyone has had any experience or can offer help it would be wonderful 😀

i could be wrong but think the ir connection only works with onkyo receivers or systems and their remotes - not universal

Ahh, thanks for your help bud, means I can't be lazy and function all of one remote 😉
