Onkyo blu ray players. Underrated or just under reviewed?

Under reviewed. Like Yamaha, Onkyo makes / rebadges blu ray players just for people interested in having an aesthetically matching player to their AVR. Hence they're not interested in spending too much on advertising and promotions.

Cheers BigBoss, good comparison with the yamahas. Guess it's also the same for Arcam's players too?

It's a shame that they're not covered enough as at a first glance they seem capable enough units. Although personally I would be concerned with Onkyo's reliability record.

I would be concerned about all such players. They need periodic firmware updates to ensure they are able to play all discs. I can only trust Sony, Panasonic and Oppo to be proactive with updates.
