Onkyo 875 owners, if you ignore the heat, can it be bettered against £1000 receivers available now?

If i got one it would be on a top shelf and would allow air circulation. I have a Cambridge Audio 540R (original) and want to see a definite sound quality improvement (and picture via Blu-Ray/DVD's) with my next receiver, so is it worth spending the £599 on the 875?

Yes its a great av amp, and compared to its 876 there's little comparison except it's £400 cheaper, also the 905 is £799, Yamaha AX863se is worth considering at £495 as an alternative to the 875.
