Onkyo 609 + Panasonic TX50GT Using iPlayer and losing sound

Hi all,

I have just set up my Onkyo 609, Sky box, BluRay with the Panny and the sound is brilliant coming through the Q7000 speakers. Except, when I watch something on iPlayer I have to switch off the Onkyo to get sound from the TV. I assume that it's the same when looking at YouTube, but I haven't tried it with this set up.

I have a HDMI cable going to the TV, but nothing coming back. Do I need to have a digital cable from the TV to the Onkyo to get the sound to work in "TV Mode".

Some HDMI cables allow audio return but not all, so you'd need to check that. Otherwise you need an optical cable from the TV to the amp.

That and whether the amp and TV support ARC (Audio Return Channel) as well, if not...
