Hi,have you tried the coax cable to your amp,Then go into amp menu and select coax using dvd input, also see if your sky box is outputting dolby digital.

Interesting: I had three Thomsons fail, and a Samsung unable to operate with my receiver, and am now on an Amstrad which works just fine.

Well I've had an Amstrad HD box for almost a year and I've never had any problems with it all, so by your measurement criteria Amstrad boxes are the best there are!

i have had 4 thompson, 3 samsung sky HD boxes within 8 months and then a Amstrad which has never let me down works perfectly. The main problem i had was with my sony bravia kdl46w4000 lcd tv it always used lose sound on the tv used to come up with a message saying incompatable audio signal received, after months of changing boxes a manager at sky sent a engineer with the latest amstrad box and it fixed all the problems and now works perfectly with my tv and onkyo tx-sr605 receiver.
