I am now in a position to add a decent NAS setup to my Cyrus 8XPd Hifi and Sonos Wifi. Would the Olive 3HD work with the Sonos ZP90 if I connected it with ethernet cable reference streaming? This leaves either the USB or the phono inputs for Cyrus connection with this player. or Would the humble Ripnas be the better option as it has a wider compatibility built into it? I am after a hassle free ripping of 300 plus CDs that has the quality to impress with my current setup.

You want to connect the Olive to the Sonos via ethernet? To achieve what exactly? Remember the Olive is a source, NOT a NAS or server and cannot be used as such. The Sonos won't be able to play files off it if that's what you mean.

You can connect the Olive to the Sonos via analogue, but selecting of songs would still have to be done on the Olive.

thanks Manicm, I thought I could be cheeky and utilise the ethernet port of the ZP90 hoping CDs ripped via Olive would work with Sonos through the wireless route, so that I could take advantage of the Olive 24 bit via RCA or USB as it would have been next to the Cyrus Amp as my router is in a different room.

No great shakes then as the RIPNas will take less space and will work with the PC as well. Both are similar expenditure.
