Oldie - but - goodie speakers - pairing with modern equipment.

I have a pair of Rogers LS6a/2's, which are still good. My old budget CD player, a Marantz CD52 Mk2 Special Edition and Rotel RA935 BX have died in a house move. Is it worth trying to pair oldie but goodie speakers with modern kit? I was thinking of a Cambridge Audio 640C V2 player and Rotel RA-04 amp.

I'd have no problem with those speakers and the player and amp you're suggesting, but do also have a listen to the Marantz CD6002 CD player you'll find tested in the October issue.
