(Old) Arcam & B&W setup upgrade...suggestions?

Hi folks, help required please!!!

Bought myself Arcam Alpha 9 seperates about 6 months ago which I have got connected to B&W 601 s2's, all in mint condition.

Imo this sounds really good but I'm wondering if I will hear a noticeable difference if I punt this and spend a little more?

I have a small-ish front room 6m x 3.5m so want seperates and bookshelf setup rather than floor standers. Can anyone suggest a reasonable seperates and speakers upgrade combo that won't cost as much as a small planet (I.e on a budget)? May upgrade some/all parts.

Also, in a room of this size will I hear a marked difference?

Excuse my ignorance but I am a bit of a novice and this was my first proper kit.

Stick with what you've got, Arcam and B&W are good gear, you don't need to get sucked into the money pit!

Suggest if you have funds to spare you might consider upgrading whatever you use as a source first.... enjoy.

PS Just re-read post and if you have the Alpha 9 CD player then just buy more music.
