Old Apple TV US Version.

I may well be going on a Trip to the US shortly, I can see availability of the old apple TV over there at decent prices, What are the differences between US and UK models, I assume power supply is one of them are there any that would make it a bad buy?

Bought mine in Saudi Arabia so I'm assuming it's a US version, it certainly didn't come with a UK style 3 pin plug. But clearly voltage sensing so I just cut the horrible American plug off stuck on a 3-pin and it's been running almost non stop for 3 months since.

Is the plug Hard wired then?

No it's a figure of 8 socket.

Thanks JD that will be easy to find one of those with a UK plug, Will keep my eye out when If I have to go over, have seen them advertised for $150 so hope I can find somewhere with stock.

yup figure of 8 with the usual the usual moulded on US style (v v flimsy) plug so snip and on with a 3 pin and Bob's your mothers sibling.

i have a us bought apple tv - guy at apple said its the exact same as for the plug - dont need a new cable, just cut the 2 prong one off and rewire a 3 plug.
