I know I am going to get some stick for this post but in the good old days of crt you had three things to think about before buying your new tv: 1) What make? 2) What size? 3) 50hz or 100hz? BUT TODAY: 1) What make? 2) What size? 3) 100hz motion or not? 4) 24fps? 5) What about backlight bleed? 6) Is it judder free? 7) 720, 1080i or 1080p? 8) Full hd or hd ready? 9) Do I need to upscale? 10) LCD or Plasma? 11) What about screenburn? 12) What about pulldown? 13) Which contrast ratio? 14) Motion blurring? 15) How many hdmi sockets do I need? 16) What will I be watching sd or hd? 17) What about getting dead pixels? 18) Should I hang it on the wall? And yes I have got to much time on my hands today

And people ask why we cover/test TVs when we never did before

I agree, it's tricky - but we and thousands of Forum posters are here to help!

I agree Kit Kat, it is ludicrous that buying a TV has come to this. But then people tell me it is progress. I also think that in the less than 26" range, for most people, they would be better off with a CRT. But hey, everyone wants flat and bright.
