Just bought a MacBook Air, new from John Lewis.

Couldn't resist it at £899 inc 2 year warranty. Bargain. And being self employed it's all tax deductible at 40%.

I work in marketing for a creative agency ie we do strategy & planning followed by ads, brochures, direct marketing etc etc.

I certainly won't be getting any ADM 9.1s either. The 'puter is for internet duties and a little work ie on way to client meeting and the odd presentation. Also for downloading and manipulating photos from my missus soon-to-be DSLR camera that she's getting for her birthday and Christmas. Have overspent recently but given it's tax deductible and there are some major bargains around in makes perfect sense. The MacBook Air is £1,271 at the Apple Store. £899 at JL, 40% tax means I have paid around £540 for it. Camera too, £1k's worth at RRP for £500 after cashback and again I will use it for work as we do a fair amount of competitive monitoring so can claim it.

Funnily enough Mr Pro, I was wondering how long it would take you to reply to this thread...

...no plans for the streaming stuff as yet, simply an easy to carry and 'successful' looking laptop which is quite important in a brand-led kind of industry (rightly or wrongly).

None. The amps were 99% close to be upgraded at the weekend, but the A32/P35 combo that I'd agreed a deal on didn't work out as planned.

CD will be with me for a while, at least until the next proper upgrade in a couple of years when I'll be looking at something like the Naim thing.

If you search around you'll find a thread started by JD showing a number of forum member mug shots. JoelSim provided a picture of himself and his missus.

The only time you get to delete an entry successfully is when non-one else has yet added anything afterwards.

Way too crowded for that JD. I just manage to squeeze on the bus/bus/tube/tube/tube to get to work every day. It's rubbish

Oh to live in St Lucia by the beach with a gaggle of playboy chicks. It ain't gonna happen tho', will have to make do with London Town and all the lovely scenery.
