steve68:Multiple subs are not only used for Home Theatre, but can of course work very well in stereo replay.

I have spent a lot of time, experimenting with multiple subs, and understand that it is not for everyone, however I feel two subs gives a more even frequency response throughout the room.

It is of course only my opinion........

Yes, I know, and in the past I have used anything from no sub to one on every channel of a 5.1 system. One will do for me, thanks...

Yes steve i tried music with the sub, but the 9.5s have great bass on their own and are much faster with music, the sub does the job greatly with movies, and i prefer using pure direct mode with two speakers even the sound image gets better separation without the sub

The initial driving factor for me to do so was the spec sheet wihich gives the speakers a better bass extention (Down to 30HZ), but then i liked it better that way.

Evening mate, i understand you using the 'Pure Direct' mode.

Just get a buzz with trying countless combo's and seeing the and hearing the results.

I would be very surprised, even shocked if you speakers extended lower than your sub.

sta99y:Gary Mardell:sta99y:If I only have the one RCA jack output for one sub how would or could I use two??

You can either use a Y-connector as super says or some subs have line in and line out connections which allow you to pass-through the signal, daisy-chaining the subs.

There is a technical white paper on the use of multiple subwoofers available on the Harman International website (www.harman.com).

The general conclusion there is that four subs is optimum for driving a room but that nearly as good a result can be achived by using two.
I use Kef eggs which has left/right phono and a bunch of terminals I guess which is highpass?? Not seen a pass thru thingy!!

What you're looking for is an RCA phono socket marked LFE/Input and one marked Output.

This will allow you to feed the line-level signal to the sub and then pass-thru the signal to a second sub.

I'm a bit out of the loop, but there should be some brnads that offer this at some point in their range.

Just had a quick look at the KEF specs and they don't have this - not even Reference.

Edit - Just did a quick check on Monitor Audio. They have it on the RSW12. That's what you're looking for.

That was what I thought first, but I was Impressed at what a great amount of bass they offer, but still i would only trust the subwoofer for movies, as it gives a bigger bass on movie soundtracks, but the floorstanders seem to be faster on rock music tracks. But I would like to add a sub for movies and to see the difference in music.
