which colour is better?

I got a silver 905 because it was £100 cheaper at the time. However, if they're the same price, surely the best is the colour which looks best with the rest of your setup...

It is actually a matter of personal preference.

Both look fine to me, although I have a black one too at the moment.

Silver for me, but I only got mine because my Mum hated the silver one with all the black kit. They upgraded to an 808 in black, and I pinched their silver 805 . I think its prettier though.

I find it pays to be out of phase with fashion in terms of resale value, when I bought my Marantz pm7200 the silver/champaign one cost more than the black. Now the black ones go for more on ebay. So in theory, if you buy the unfashionable one (silver) by the time you come to flog it black wont be fashionable anymore... Or not.
