Just returned from Margate and I bought four albums one of them being this £2 gem in excellent condition old but it has some very good tracks on it and the quality of the recordings in tip top. Playing on my main system.

I tried to spin a yellow Bill Evans at the Village Vanguard, that I borrowed yesterday, but my Technics SL-L3 could not "see" it evidently today, which I had not experienced before. I have no other colored discs to test currently, though black discs are still playing nicely. (I only own traditional black, I believe.) Still learning after several decades of spinning.

Not the album I wanted by these guys, but it's the one that was in the shop so I took a punt. Hopefully it grows on me as while there is some good stuff, there's also some pretty rote "dad rock" on here with some frankly awful lyrics. Clearly not the same force as they were with Alvin Lee.

Rather psychedelic and hypnotic transparent vinyl. Apparently only 500 pressings in this format exist.

After a few swings and misses with spontaneous purchases, I reeled myself in a bit today and stuck to some tried and trusted classics. Traded in a couple of other things for decent prices to take the sting out of things.

First one from the four album haul is Dookie by Green Day. Absolute belter and tracks like Longview are still fantastic - super (simple) bassline.

I'm just a smidge too young to have been a late 80s music guy, so this dose of INXS must have been my elder sister's influence. Some absolute treasures on here.

EDIT: It sounds great - Never Tear Us Apart and Mystify back to back just sound brilliant 😎 The whole second side is crammed full of energy - snapping drums, groovy baselines and some funky guitar malarkey. Brilliant dynamism and rhythm to it.
