Best clues will be the alpha numeric code on the spine of the sleeve, and/or picture match the center label of the record.I've no idea how to even check! This is the rear of the outer sleeve, but I don't know how or where to find a date.View attachment 8577
Yes, I figured that out shortly afterwards (!) Looks like this pressing is 60 years old this year - my father-in-law celebrates his 80th birthday next month so he's had this since he was 20.Best clues will be the alpha numeric code on the spine of the sleeve, and/or picture match the center label of the record.
Looks like 1965 UK stereo! SweetYes, I figured that out shortly afterwards (!) Looks like this pressing is 60 years old this year - my father-in-law celebrates his 80th birthday next month so he's had this since he was 20.
Strangely Side 2 on this was noticeably more crackly than Side 1 with no immediately obvious blemishes on the record itself. Hopefully a few cleans will tidy that up a bit. It wasn't too intrusive, but Side 1 was more or less perfect.
I suspect all of his records are likely to be pretty close date-wise to the original release of the album. I know where to look now so will try to remember to share photos of the record itself in future. I think it's astonishing that it has survived multiple house moves (including one Transatlantic one!) in the past 60 years and still sounds great.Looks like 1965 UK Mono! Sweet
Pretty special knowing that your father was spinning the same physical piece 60 years ago. My dad bought his HiFi equipment and was collecting records around the same time. I have gotten into the hobby over the last couple of years and it has rekindled his love affair with HiFi and vinyl. He got his system out of storage, cleaned it up and reset it all up in his basement. Something we enjoy together!I suspect all of his records are likely to be pretty close date-wise to the original release of the album.
