Question Novice: Phono Stage

Is there any benefit (or indeed problem) in purchasing a turntable with a phono stage (I’m thinking Rega Planar 1 Plus) if I already have an integrated amp with a phono stage? I think I’m asking if one interferes with the other, if that makes sense!! Thanks.

There's a good chance that the one in your amp will probably be far better than the one in the turntable.

I'd agree with DougK. The ones that are built into turntables tend not to be of high quality simply functional.
If you have one in your amplifier then it doesn't make economic sense to buy the Rega.
having said that they will not interfere with each other if you connect turntable and amp correctly

The Rega is £275 and the integrated amp (at the moment) is an old Rotel RA-01.

In my opinion you might find Project turntables a more adaptable alternative
Rega are fine as long as you can live with their limitations and use Rega cartridges
Rega turntables of old with the column fit tonearms were more flexible
