Nostalgia: Rega R3's

Bit of a blast from the past here but i got my old (2005 i think) Rega R3 speakers back from my dad yesterday as he no longer wants or needs them in his lounge. I only gave them to him as we had babies, toddlers and cats in the way. Anyway rather than put them straight in storage, for a bit of fun i decided to hook then up at home instead of my usual PSB speakers. Well i'll be damned. Having not heard them for a few years i had forgotten how bloody musical they are. My foot was tapping all night whilst listening to all sorts of genres. I'm not sure they have as much overall authority as the PSB's and the PSB speakers are fantastic, especially for their size but i can't help feel the Regas are just more musical and a bit more enjoyable. I am now considering leaving these old boys in place for a while. What a pleasant surprise.

My Dad has a 30 year old Technics amp and an old Marantz CD player that still sound sweet.
