no sound from my sony dav-is10. help!!

i can't get sound from my sony while playing dvds. while performing set-up, the speakers worked fine while doing the auto calibration. is there something in the menu that i'm missing? the system is connected to my tv by hdmi, if that's relevant.

p.s. if i turn the volume right up, you get a very faint sound.

today, there's more sound, but i have to turn the volume up to 50 to get an audible level and the volume only goes up to 75. it doesn't sound right, does it?

hey i had the same problem .. how i resloved it was to fore go the auto cali', did not seem to work very well, ive read reviews stating it was useful, butl it give different results even if i never moved any speaks ...any way i just cranked up the ohms manually (with go mental), also make sure the sound field is the best for you... A.S.D auto worked best for me, thou andrew right in saying its really for a small room hope that helps

Last November a few of us encountered this 'problem'. If you typeÿ'sony silence' in the search engine for forums you will find that 50+ on the volume is very much the norm so panic not! ÿIt's a great piece of kit.
