How would we know without knowing what equipment is connected, how it is connected and how it is setup?
The answer is no but if you're talking about bluray, your bluray player needs to be set up to bitstream the raw audio to the amp for decoding. By default, most bluray players are set up for secondary audio etc. which can only be decoded internally by the player and output as LPCM.
If you want to see the HD audio formats displayed on the front panel, you're going to have to set up your blu ray player correctly.
