No dts output on my ps3

Hi guys,does anyone know how to get my fat 60gb ps3 to play a police classics c.d i got for xmas,its a dts 5.1 mix but all i get is hissing,i have tried unchecking all the audio boxes allowed leaving only dts 5.1 and two linear pcm boxes that are uncheckable but no joy,also tried turning bitstream on but still hissing,my amp says signal is pcm no mater what,funny thing is it plays ok on an old dvd player i've got,a toshiba sd360e but the remote is up the wall so its leaving us soon,any ideas?(Got a pink floyd sacd too which sound very good)

It needs to be set to bitstream in the video setings (confusingly) under BD Audio Output Format (Optical Digital)

The settings I use are:

Optical digital

Output format - Dolby Digital 5.1 ch, DTS 5.1 Ch, AAC, LPCM 2ch 4.1 khz and LPCM 2ch 48khz ticked

Is there a red light emitting from the cable? Does it work with other discs? Do you have another cable to try? Did you try the PS3 connected to the input currently occupied by your DVD player?
