so over the last couple of months i added two power amps to my system to bi amp the fronts what i wanted to do next was bi amp the center.could i do this with one 2 chanel amp

the plan.

1 phono lead out of onkyo center pre out ,into phono two way spliter, two way phono spliter into left and right chanel inputs of power amp(giving boath left and right chanels the same signal),then left speaker output into low and right speaker output into high.

hope that makes sence.would like to no your opinions or if any one had tried somthing simaler.

cheers.

sounds like a plan, but could you not do:

1 phono cable from centre out to power amp in (e.g. left channel)
1 cable from (left) channel out to other (right) channel in.

I'm sure most power amps i've seen have in and out so you can pass the signal through. It would also mean less cables and connections.

Could be wrong though.

my other options are forget about bi amping the center and get a rotel 1075 wich is 5 chanel that would make up the other chanels to my 7.1 system instead of another three two chanel power amps (ie one two bi amp center speaker and another two for rears and suround speakers that are not bi ampable)

sorry i no this is not hi fi i just thought you guys might no more about power amps.

the only thing that worrys my is my fronts are bi amped with two power ams rated at 2x70 i think and the five chanel power amp is 5x 120w ,would this cause problems
