Newbie Needs Help

I'm thinking of putting together a "good value" system around Samsung UE40D5520 and I was wondering which blue ray/home theatre would be best with it. Most of the time it would be for SD TV and DVDs (to be upscaled) but leading on to blue ray. I've heard that the speakers on flat screen are not good, so am interested in home cinema package or separates which work together and don't need a PhD to operate.

Out the box- The Panasonic that What Hi Fi did a review on Panasonic SC-BTT350 3D READY blue ray player, for future proofing and ipod/iPhone dock £225.54 Delivered from amazon. There may be cheaper places too
