Hello everyone. Am about to buy Sony BDP S570 blu ray player, B & W 685 theatre speaker package (with M1 satellites as rear speakers as they are easier to mount on walls), Yammy V667 or Onkyo SR 608 receivers, and Sony KDL 46HX903 TV. I listen to music as much as I watch movies. Should I go for a Marantz CD 6003 CD player for playing the CDs or just the Cambride Audio Azur 650 BD as a one player does it all (CDs DVDs and blu rays) and scrap the Sony BDP S570 as this would save me some money? Also, between the Yammy and the Onkyo, which is better for both music cds and movies? Thanks a lot in advance.

this might not be the answer you`re looking for but before you dive in for the B&W`s you really ought to take a look at an MK package for a movie/music mixed listening experience. We had a customer hear on saturday who after trawling around the HIFI shops in yorkshire for weeks purchased the MK package there and then, infact even his good lady said these are the best speakers we`ve heard so far.

the M5 -M7 fronts and M4T tripole rears really are a cut above imho any other satellite speaker package heard to date, along with a SB1250 sub its a combination to suit anything you throw at it.Whats your room dimensions btw?

Amplifer wise, the ones you have mentioned, i`d have to go with the Onkyo, for both applications it partners the MK`s to perfection and drives them very well.

I`ll let the other guys answer the cd q`s but the cambridge seems to do it all

As said, maybe not the answer you`d hope for but food for thought

cheers Al
