I currently have a 50 inch Sony DLP LCD tv which is getting on for 3 years old and I'm thjinking of changing it for a Plasma......my local Comet has the Pioneer 42 inch HD Ready model (Pioneer PDP-4280XD I think) for £900...........is this a good deal??

Looked ok in the store but they have them hooked up to really rubbish aerial feeds.

Sounds a great deal, I was originally looking at this telly but it was just a bit too expensive, Iv'e seen them between £1400 and £1500.

Instead I choose the Sony KDL 40W4500 of which I'm picking up tonight. yeeeeee.....ha

Good luck.

sounds too cheap - ex-display model? - may have cranked up alot of hours in-store. There was one in my Currys which was £1199 - I asked and it was display model. I would ask - if it isn't then buy it!

Totally agree with DaveyA.

You probably know already but Pioneer aren't making these anymore. (shame) And they are hard to get hold of, a few weeks ago there were still some for sale on the net but at a higher price.

Ask them if they will give you a 5 year guarantee with the Pioneer plasma. If they will, £900 is a good deal. It is the best TV of that size I have seen.
