I want to replace my Samsung LE46C750 and came across the new KS7000 in 60". Never had another brand in 15 years this will be my 4th Samsung, and had no problems in all these years.

The new Samsung UE60KS7000 have no 3D, but i never, in this years whatched a 3d movie at home and I don't see myself buying any 3b content in the near future... So if 3d is not a problem, the KS7000 is the best my money can buy for 1700€...? I want the biggest screen my money can buy, but want the better image to! :)

help appreciated.

Went to see the Oled LG 55EG920V, very nice screen, watched contend from low res (600x300) to 4K Passing to live fee of a football match in HD, HD will be 70/80% of my diet, so upscaling abilities will be taken in consideration. Loved the contrast, the blacks level, and how natural it performed. will demo the Samsung UE60KS7000 today, more 5" less 700€... The final two... Tough call....

I think my mind is made.... The wife still need to see the two screens but the LG55EG920V takes the gold! I've watched cable TV, (same service as mine ) at 720p , 1080p movie and 4K demo videos, the LG takes the lead. The black contrast in the OLED LG is a killer, the Samsung have more vivid whites, thats why the image "shine" more, and the black not being like the ones in the LG, seems very nice on the Samsung due to the more present whites. At a long term, and if you watch tv for 4/5 hours the LG will not tire you so much.

The LG 920 is as good as the 55ef950 but curved like you say. Is €2250 good then? Some uk shops might ship to you if it's not?

This years samsung is better than last years OLED for "future proofing" lot more brightness than the oled. Maybe around 3.5x more. And im sure the oled has an 8 bit panel and lower dci p3 colour space.

Here are some thoughts to help you make your mind up, the samsung won't have 3D but should be easyer to wall mount with it having the one connect box.

Thanks Simon for jumping in, yes there's no 3D in the Samsung, but my actual tv have it and i've never used it, no 3d blu rays either, thats why i'm considering this model from Samsung.

not worried about the connectinons as well, all is going into my RX V775 only one hdmi out to the telly, and a internet cable...

the samsung has a 10 bit panel..it is SUHD after all! the samsung is best value for money, the 2015 oled sets were known to have problems such as banding quite common. it is a try and return to see if you get a good one. the samsung for the price is good, but an OLED for an extra 700? i'd go for the samsung.

all oled owners say but the black levels are way better, well yes obviously. but they don't make comments on the brightness factor which is a limitation, hdr is about the max brightness AND black levels. the samsung is good in both but OLED only good in one..

What's the point of extra brightness when it fails to eliminate light bleed-through in the dark sections of a screen? HDR by definition refers to the ability to display the brightest and the darkest picture in the same scene. Because OLED's blacks are so good, the brightness requirement automatically goes down. There is no doubt that self emitting technology (OLED) is superior, but given that the choice is between a 2015 & 2016 model, and the price difference, I would go with the Samsung.

Hi BB and nugget, you two make fair points, but if you read my post #3 after I've demo both sets, I came to the same conclusion as BB. My fear is that extra white level on the Samsung, became fatiguing after 3/4 hours watching it.

The LG is more neutral, don't needing so much white levels for the blacks to go deeper, and that fact after 3/4 hours of watching maybe is more friendly to the eye.

Thanks for helping me making my mind.

I've a 15 days trail, if the Samsung will not be for me i can take it back and spend the extra 700€ and bring the LG home.

I have seen the 60KS7000 but have just got the 49" version so assume signal processing and panel handling very similar. Had it two weeks and seriously considering returning it. Picture is sharp, colour is great, dynamic range is great BUT motion handling is flaky and Netflix app is buggy.

motion handling issues aren't just on sport but a quick turn of a head can judder badly.
