New TV needed. Max £1500

Ok so the back light seems to have died on the kids playroom TV. Looking for your recomendations for a screen, must be 50+". Needs to run sky, blu-ray, Xbox, wii etc. room is normaly brightly lit, and screen will be wall mounted opposite large window. Not worried about smart tv and not willing to go over £1500. all advice welcome.

GO to currys xmas sale, they have a 60 inch samsung on sale for 1000, i bought the 50" a while ago and love it

Currys have a terrible reputation for after sales support. Get John Lewis or Richer Sounds to price match & buy from there instead.

Look at Samsung PS51F8500 plasma & UE55F8000 LED lit LCD.

I'd question putting a plasma TV in a play-room.

I'm far from an alarmist with regard to IR/screen burn, but kid's channels with bright logos seem designed to cause such issues; and the last/latest generation Panasonic and Samsung plasma panels seem prone to stubborn IR at least.
