Please help!! My Mum´s old Philips plasma just died tonight and she needs a new TV quick! It must be a smart tv, full HD but she´s not fussed about 3D. Screen size upto 40 inches and either led or plasma ( I prefer plasma ) and around 500 quid max.. Not fussed on make although I prefer Panny. Have seen a Samsung UE40F6320 on Richers www for 499 quid. I don´t know anything about Samsung so what would you wise one¨s suggest? Samsung, Panny or someone else? Bottom line is need something fairly new say last years line up BUT not bang upto date. Forgot to add she has freesat in the form of a Humax pvr and an aerial for freeview.

Thanks in advance................................

You'all be lucky to find plasma it's now obsolete tech check out samsung UE40F8000 at john lewis.

Not sure that the OP specifically wanted another plasma?(he just says he prefers them) He's also put a budget of £500 on it, so the F8000 is somewhat outside that!

How about one of these - http://www.johnlewis.com/electricals/televisions/television-offers/40=screensizestv-televisionoffers-6000270106/c6000270106

or http://www.johnlewis.com/loewe-xelos-51439t80-led-hd-1080p-smart-tv-40-with-freeview-hd/p231651764

All come with a 5 year guarantee

Thank you Chaps for your input, yes zee UE40F8000 is a trifle over budget! Will probably go for the UE40F6320 from Richer Sounds @ 499.

Don´t know if it´s old tech. etc. but it´ll do the job for me Mar.........................
