New to Blue Ray

Considering getting a Blue Ray player as just seen a Philips 2700 at £57 at Asda. Is this any good as a player and would I see any real difference if I spent the extra £60 to get the Sony 370? Also when Blue Ray players upscale standard DVDs, is the quality any better than when playing on a non upscaling DVD player?

Yes, it is worth the extra cash to get the 370, and you can now find it for 99GBP inc delivery..see a post today on the news section of the WHiFi site.

Also, yes, a good DvD upscaler can really transform them. The difference can be quite significant and generally breathes new life into discs.

If you are looking for a solid budget buy then the 370 is the way to go.
