New Sub?

Currently using a Mordaunt Short ms907 Sub but finding it a little lacking in both depth and timing. Rest of my speakers are all Mission, floorstanders front, dipole rear. Room size is about 4.5x4metres.Something with more bottom end and bit more 'oommph'.

Are down firing subs generally better than forward firing?

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

SVS or BK should do nicely, as would sunfire. They make several at all pricepoints. I have a downward firing SVS which I imported before they got a UK distributor sorted out and am seriously impressed.
