Recently been through a similar search as yourself and have similar tastes in music.
Amp wise I would suggest an ex dem Naim xs, there are a few about or as previously suggested you can find the original Leema Stream for about £750 and go try and hear with Proac studio140, sound great with rock and reggae.
I tried the Spendor A5 and A6 but they have very little bass, listened to some Led Zep and the drums sounded like bongos in another room, no good for me.
I am looking at getting a HRT Streamer 11 and there goes your budget, anyway have fun, you will get lots of pointers here
