New small flat screen for the office / den

In our new house I've got the rear extension as my home office but I"m also slowly turning it into my den too >)

My workstation is my MacBook Pro 2012 and I'm thinking of using this to connect to a new flat screen TV via AirPlay mirroring via an Apple TV2 or 3

I'm after answers as to whether this will work fine or whether I should just use the Thunderbolt/mini-display port to HDMI connection way?

Also what TV, max 26 inch, would be worth looking at? Budget of up to £300 but would prefer around the £200-£250 mark if poss

Could be a good idea to arrange a trip to Richer Sounds. My LG 32" is fabulous for the money, although you maybe hampered by a lack of inputs at this budget.
