New Samsung 55 inch LED/LCD

I was considering buying the Samsung series 7, 55 inch LED/LCD screen. As most places are running out of stock I was just about to buy one and then I noticed a new 55 inch model is out soon. What is confusing is the "newer" 2010 model the UE55C630 is classed as a series 6 whereas the older one was a series 7. Both are similar in price and spec, the only real difference on paper is the newer version has freeview HD. This doesn't bother me anyway as I use Sky. Can anyone shed any light on why the series 7 is being replaced with a series 6?!

samsungs 7 8 and 9 series are either 3d ready or full 3d ..

4 5 and 6 series are 2d ...

The 55 inch 7 series LED/LCD TV is neither 3D ready or full 3D as far as I know.
