I would be grateful for some suggestions for a new pair of speakers to act as rear surrounds, replacing my 16yr old Mission 77DS's, one of which appears to have now failed.

the rest of my system comprises; Denon AVR X-2000 AVR, Mission 770E L/R floorstanders, Mission 77C1 centre and REL T-Zero subwoofer, the other speakers (thought not the sub, which is new) are of the same vintage and while ideally I would replace them all, I can't really do that at the moment. I have also just replaced all my,speaker cable with Cambridge Audio 200.

I am looking for a pair speakers to act as rears, ideally no wider than 30cm, and up to a max price of about £150 for the pair. They will be sited on top of a wooden cabinet, about 30cm from the wall. Richer Sounds list what seem like a number of good options but I'd grateful for any recommendations.

Thanks

a quick search on ebay shows a couple of pairs of 77DS's up for auction at around £35 plus similar speakers like the M7DS and the 70DS (which is identical in size to the 77 but uses slightly different drivers) at prices up to £55.

As you are not looking to replace all of your existing speakers yet, I think this will be better option for you.
