Hi folks,

My retailer is willing to swap my older style panasonic 3d glasses for the new type

http://panasonic.net/avc/viera/3d/3d_eyewear/index.html

He's quoting a price of 150 pounds as the list price of the new type glasses, anyone got a price in the uk yet? I'm tempted to do the trade as the new ones are supposed to be a better design, more comfortable and they have usb recharging built in as opposed to batteries in the older type glasses.

Cheers,

Mick

Hi Mick, how are you getting on with your new 42" VT20? On another of your posts you said you were happy with it so just wondering if everything is still ok? any issues? I'm tempted to get one of these myself.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi Mick, thanks for the super quick reply!

Yes it is very stressful, i've been to loads of different shops, read countless reviews and just when I think i've decided I read something negative and change my mind. I'm very tempted by this one though and my local dealer will be getting stock within a few days. I was stood in John Lewis for ages today looking at the 46 version and was very impressed. Hmmm, decisions decisions. 🙂

ditto Dave! had a queue of people waiting to look at the 46" myself today..... but was so impressed..they had to wait!!

The retail price Mick for the new style glasses is £129.99, i will be getting some of these myself as the 1st generation do not fit my head properly but ill be testing these when i get them instore just to see if there is any difference between the old and the new for performance.

Thanks M,

I've ordered two of the large size, hopefully should have them sometime next week -

here's the sizing info i have on them

Sizing guide:

Measure head circumference at eyeline

Large Size: Panasonic TY-EW3D2LE Head Size 600mm

Medium Size: Panasonic TY-EW3D2ME Head Size 530-600mm

Small Size: Panasonic TY-EW3D2SE Head Size 480 - 530

i measured in at 580 (as did my wife) but i thought it safer to go for the larger size as we both wear glasses..

Hopefully made the right decision

The 1st generation 3D glasses from Panasonic are modelled i think on the large size which i have a problem with, so ive gone for 2 pairs of medium, i measured my head around 550 and medium seemed right. Did the 1st gen Panasonic glasses fit ok on you Mick? If they did, then Large might be ok on the new style, if the 1st gen was a bit loose on you, then i'd head towards the medium size.

Let me know when you receive them how you get on and if you like them.

i actually havent tried on the old style glasses yet, i guess i should! i didnt want to open the box though.. just to keep my retailer on side.. i dont know how flexible they will be though in terms of changing them if they are to big.. i think they are a special order and dont intend stocking them all the time

I think you need to try the old style one's on Mick, they would not fit me at all, the arms did not go behind my ears, so i was holding them or using the strap to keep them on my head

so thats why you need to be careful on what size you go for.

Im sure your retailer would not mind getting the right size incase the large was the wrong size as they would be easy to sell on for customers who want extra pairs of glasses.

mick, id try on a pair in a shop if you dont want to open your own ones, especially if the new large glasses are similar to the originals, they are very poor fitting..

i had a look at the spec of the new glasses and the large size is only 5 mil wider at the front than the medium pair

Hi M,

Have you got your knew glasses yet? Tried the old ones last night and while they fit ok, they are quite heavy.. and a little uncomfortable.. no word from my retailer but i'll be checking in with him again today

Cheers,

Mick
