Clare Newsome:...From my conversations with Panasonic at the Show, i'd expect this year's G20/G25 '2D' line-up to be broadly comparable with their 2009 predecessors...

Now I really do wish that I hadn't bought a Philips 47PFL7404, which IMHO is a fundamentally flawed (motion/halo issues) design.

hmmm , the 3d sets get infinate black pro , the g series getting just , infinate black ...

as i thought , anyone wanting a pana kuro will also get 3d , that should sell a few 3d sets ,but at what price ??

Exactly!

I am not interested in 3 d, but I like the idea of deep Pioneer like blacks.

Disappointed already.

it was always going to be the case , anyone who was serious about home cinema , and had the money , bought a kuro , all the techys on here have them , they were never gonna offer a 2d pana kuro , too damaging to their 3d vision , still , if they pitch the 50in 3d kuros in around the 2-2.5k mark , ill be happy , over that price and im out ...

We'll get that level of detail at future briefings, but from a side-by-side look at 2009/2010 models at CES, they didn't seem radically different - certainly not at the higher-end, 'G' level.

As I understand it both the V and G range have the infinite black capability and both have a marketing qutoed contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. Last years models were 2,000,000:1. So I think you will be kuro-esque black from both models. The difference between the (V) infinite black pro and (G) infinite black however is unclear. It would be great if WHF could clarify this at their briefing.

Cheers

Oh, don't worry, we will

. But, as previously mentioned, there were definitely better blacks/contrast levels on the 2010 'G' model we saw at CES, compared to 2009 model (though, as also discussed, we don't know how the two plasmas were set up).

Just wondering of any idea on price for the new range - I am currently looking at buying the current 46"G15 from the local panasonic shop for £899 with 5 year warranty. Wondered how much difference in quality there is, and how much more will i have to pay for the equivalent new model?

Hope u can help - ASAP as offer ends sunday 31st.

I'd think the difference in price would be atleast £300.00 more on the new model, thats how it is when a new model is released and then it goes down in price later in the year.
