New old speakers. What amp

I have just purchased some old kef reference four two speakers. They are immaculate in their original boxes and as new unmarked. Which is nice. My issue is amplification. I have an audiolab 8300xpthat is rated at 140w @ 8 ohms and 240w @4ohms. I was considering buying another 8300xp and running them bridged . But allas they are not stable at 4ohms in bridged mode . Then i thought i could bi amp using one amp for the mids and highs and one amb for the bass. What are people's thoughts on this option? Or should i just get a more powerful power amp and sell the Audiolab? Forgot to add the Kefs are rated at 4000w@4 ohms🙂

The Model Four Twos are pretty demanding loudspeakers. When I owned a pair, I tried many amplifier to get them to work well, and many failed as they just couldn't control the bass they had. The Audiolab's will do a pretty good job, but as you say, won't be stable into a 4ohm load, as with a few "budget" bridgeable power amplifiers. In the end, I found a pair of Bryston 7B ST monoblocks did the job.

A Hegel H600 or discontinued H590 integrated amp would do well, and maybe the H400 and discontinued H390.

Bi-amping won't give you any extra power or control of the Four Twos.
