New MartinLogan electrostatic speakers

Great to see some true hi-end hi-fi, from a classic name too - many thanks, Clare.

Not 100% sure, but are they a full active design, as the write-up mentions a 200 watt class D amplifier, presumably not just for the woofer?

They certainly look the mutts...

Not recommended, I assume, to use with a 40 watt Rotel or Arcam?

Well according to the specs, the recommended paired amplifer power is '20-500 watts per channel' :)

They're a hybrid design, so the amp does feed the woofer...

Thanks for clarifying, Clare. Makes a lot of sense, as good quality amps with more modest outputs can handle the rest, without the need for more upgrading. Hope you guys can get some for review. I imagine they might well be priced close to GB pound = US dollar, but that still means they are reasonable value.
